Enjoy your surroundings, sustainably
Enjoying your surroundings starts with taking care of them. At LAZE, we aim to operate as sustainably as possible, without compromising on style, comfort, or quality.
Our fabrics are woven in Europe, produced in small batches, and hand-finished in the Netherlands. This helps us keep our environmental footprint low while supporting local craftsmanship. From raw materials to final product, we choose partners who go beyond the standard. Whether you’re styling your own outdoor space or sourcing for a design project, LAZE offers products that are built to last, look stunning, and are responsibly made every step of the way.
Made from recycled materials: soft, strong, and stylish
All of our fabrics are made from recycled plastic waste. Think PET bottles, ocean plastic, and repurposed upholstery materials. The result is high-performance fabrics that feel silky soft yet are highly resistant to water, stains, and UV rays. Perfect for outdoor use in gardens, on terraces, or boats, but just as beautiful indoors. They’re also hypoallergenic. Dust mites and moths don’t thrive in them, making our products ideal for people with allergies, families with children, and households with pets.
It’s estimated that one million plastic bottles are discarded every minute worldwide. Many of these end up in landfills, rivers, or oceans. By reusing this waste, we actively remove plastic from the environment and give it a new life, as something that will last for years. Producing yarns from recycled plastic also uses up to 70 percent less energy and nearly 90 percent less water than producing new synthetic yarn. The raw material already exists. We simply give it purpose.
Built to last
The longer a product lasts, the more sustainable it becomes. That’s why we choose high-quality fabrics that withstand weather, dirt, and daily use.
Our fabrics are:
Durable and abrasion-resistant
Suitable for indoor and outdoor use
Water- and UV-resistant
Stain-repellent and washable
Moth- and dust mite-resistant
Easy to clean with water and soap
Machine washable
For us, sustainable design means you can enjoy it for years, without sacrificing beauty or comfort.
Conscious sourcing starts with careful selection
We work with suppliers who go far beyond technical specifications. At the start of every partnership, we ask:
Do they create something beautiful and well-made?
Do they use recycled materials and take sustainability seriously?
Is their commitment real, or just good PR?
We only work with partners who are certified, for example with the Global Recycled Standard or OEKO-TEX Standard 100, and who take a critical look at their own supply chains, packaging, and transportation practices. Our production takes place in Europe, including Turkey. That means shorter shipping routes, lower emissions, stricter environmental standards, and access to advanced textile technologies. Fewer miles, less impact, and more control over the process.
Handcrafted with care
Nearly all of our products are handcrafted in the Netherlands. We do this not only for the quality and attention to detail but because we believe the process matters. Every handmade piece is unique. Small variations are part of the charm and make each product more personal and authentic than anything mass-produced. By producing locally, we shorten supply chains, reduce transport emissions, and support skilled makers and small-scale production. For us, sustainability also means knowing who made your product and how.
Why we work with small inventories
You may have noticed: some items are temporarily sold out or only available in small numbers. That’s intentional. We keep our stock levels low to avoid overproduction and waste. Since we can’t always predict which items will be most popular, we prefer to make what’s needed rather than overproduce. This helps us prevent leftover products from being discarded, and avoids adding to the global plastic waste problem. We’re constantly improving our ability to match supply to demand. Until then, we hope you’ll understand if your order takes a little longer. We believe it’s worth the wait.
Help us improve
Sustainable materials and production methods are evolving fast. And we’re learning every day. If you have suggestions, ideas, or spot something we could do better, we’d love to hear from you. We welcome feedback from customers, designers, and professionals who, like us, want to help drive positive change.
