Sustainable enjoyment of your environment

We aim to be as sustainable a company as possible because truly enjoying your environment is only possible when it is beautiful and healthy. For us, this means that all the products we source must be of the highest quality and as sustainable as possible without compromising on other requirements like comfort and style. Our products are made from recycled plastic waste, and their production is as environmentally friendly as can be. But it doesn’t stop there. We make every effort to minimize our ecological footprint in all aspects of our business. Our fabrics are woven in Europe and handcrafted in the Netherlands. Additionally, all our packaging is made from recycled cardboard, and our tape and printed materials are from recycled paper.

Recycled plastic waste

All our products are made from yarn crafted from recycled plastic waste, yet they feel silky smooth. They are easy to clean and resistant to water and UV rays. Perfect for indoor use and especially for outdoor spaces like gardens or boats. Dust mites and moths are not fond of these materials, making them ideal for allergy sufferers, families with children, or households with pets.

While we would prefer this not to be the case, millions of plastic bottles are sold and discarded worldwide every day. Many of these end up in landfills or the natural environment, finding their way into rivers and waters that eventually lead to the sea. In fact, it’s estimated that a million plastic bottles are discarded globally every minute. By recycling this plastic waste, we contribute to reducing disposable plastic waste and giving it a new lease of life.

Producing textiles from synthetic materials is not a novel concept. Making yarn from recycled plastic waste is estimated to consume 70% less energy and nearly 90% less water than producing it entirely from scratch. After all, the work to create the plastic has already been done.

Low Stock

You may have already noticed that we maintain small stocks. We understand that it can be frustrating when something is sold out, and it takes longer to get your items. We’re not used to it either. The thing is, we’re just starting, and we’re not entirely sure what you want or don’t want yet. We want to avoid making a bunch of products that no one wants, only to have to dump them somewhere, ultimately adding to the plastic waste problem. That’s why we keep our stocks low.

Luckily, we learn fast, and we can increasingly align our stocks with your preferences. Until then, we hope you’re willing to wait a bit longer for your items sometimes.

European suppliers

In the selection of our suppliers, we always ask the first question: Is it of good quality? And is it beautiful? In other words, do they create things that spark our desire? No supplier passes the selection if they do not work with recycled materials.

When it comes to sustainability, we always take an extra step in our selection process. For instance, how important is sustainability to them? Are they doing it because it’s expected nowadays, or is it something they are genuinely passionate about? Do they have the right certifications, such as Oeko-Tex 100 or the Global Recycled Standard certificate? And what criteria do they have for selecting their raw material suppliers, packaging materials, or transporters?

We prefer to work with producers and brands willing to go the extra mile. We are particularly proud of the fact that we have discovered weaving mills in Europe that meet our strict standards for quality and sustainability. These partners also share our belief that high-quality products don’t need to cost the world unnecessarily.

Handcrafted items

Because we hold design and quality in high regard, nearly all our products are handcrafted. Handmade products are never exactly the same and may have slight differences. We find this authentic and artisanal aspect more intriguing and beautiful than mechanical perfection. Moreover, since handmade products are crafted one by one, minor variations in color, texture, and shape may occur, making them truly unique.

Quality and longevity

As mentioned earlier, we consider quality to be of utmost importance. It’s not only about a better and more beautiful appearance but also about ensuring longevity. We carefully select the highest quality fabrics made from plastic waste, such as plastic bottles. These sustainable plastic fabrics have ideal characteristics for outdoor use, offering the following advantages:

  • Wear-resistant
  • Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use
  • Waterproof
  • UV resistant
  • Stain-resistant
  • Easy to clean with water and soap
  • Machine washable
  • Moth-resistant
  • Dust mite-free
